Jack of all trades – Become a self sufficient Handy Man and earn some money!






How many times has your child looked longingly at the hammer and nails, screw-drivers, cycle repairmen and garage mechanics and wanted to try it out?

We introduce these everyday skills and the importance of self-reliance in a safe environment under expert guidance where it becomes fun , not a chore!

What we do:



-          Become an electrician – basics of household wiring and switches , how to fix bulbs and tube lights
-          Become a plumber – basics of water supply system, how to fix leaky taps and flushes
-          Become a carpenter – basics of hammering nails and screws and small repairs
-          Become a cycle mechanic – how a cycle and gears work and  how to maintain it, even repairing the puncture yourself
-          Tools and safety – introduction to common tools and how to handle those safely
-          Safety first – Road, internet, fire, electrical and safety measures, dealing with strangers
-          Basics of first aid – Contents of first-aid kits, treating minor cuts, wounds, burns
-          Become a gardener! – Taking care of plants and pots, germinating and sowing seeds
-          Do your own laundry – Washing and ironing, keeping it organized, sewing buttons, polishing shoes
-          Help around the house – Dusting, vacuum-cleaning, cleaning electronics, washing and polishing cars, cycles and windows

Grease Monkey – Create ‘mobots’ and understand everyday mechanics





Gears, motors, levers, sensors – all Greek and Latin? And fascinating at the same time ? Get acquainted with these movers and shakers of the mechanical world at Cloud Mentor’s ‘Grease Monkey’ -  a fun filled Mechanics course for teens. These new friends will help you in making a cool new mechanical toy all on your own!

  • Material coupling techniques - learn to use glue, nails, clamps, nuts and bolts appropriately
  • Construction of a mechanical sensor - you will apply the concepts to construct a working sensor
  • Assembling and testing of a mechanical toy - design, assemble, test and improve your own pet – a full-fledged four-legged moving animal !

    Photomatic – Understand Photography & the mechanics behind a Camera





    What we do:

    o   Introduction to photography - a brief history of photography, various types through the ages. Is it an art, a science or a hobby?
    o   Camera Mechanics – everything you need to know to pick the right camera for you. Digital vs. Film, shutter speed, ISO, sensors, megapixels, brands, etc
    o   Optics – Types of lens and its effects, aperture, depth of field, magnification, etc
    o   Managing Light – Metering, exposure, focussing, bracketing, flash, etc
    o   Play and crawl around with digi cams and their settings - learn things that you never thought possible with your camera!
    o   Post Production - Learn how to use various post production software to give your photographs the right finishing touch. Converting to B/W, levels, noise, sharpness, saturation, etc
    o   Photography Project  – Put projects together at the Cloud Mentor Photo Lab
